SSC GD 2022 Post Details, Eligibility & Qualification

Age Limit: The age requirement for candidates is to be between 18 and 23 years old as of January 1, 2023. In other words, candidates should not have been born before January 2, 2000, or after January 1, 2005. However, there is a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit, which means that candidates should not have been born before January 2, 1997, to be eligible for the recruitment. The Government’s rules will apply for age relaxation.

Qualification: On October 27, 2022, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announced the recruitment of 24,369 constables for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) through a notification. Candidates who have passed their 10th or Matriculation exam are eligible to apply for the SSC GD Constable Vacancy 2022 by submitting their application online through the official website www.ssc.nic.in.

SSC GD Constable Selection Process

The selection process for the SSC GD Constable Vacancy 2022 comprises a written test conducted in online mode (CBT). Candidates who pass the written exam will be summoned for the Physical Efficiency Test (PMT) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT), which will be conducted at various CAPF training centers throughout the country. Subsequently, document verification and a medical examination will be conducted. Based on the candidate’s preference and the availability of open positions, the candidates will be allocated to the respective force (such as BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, etc.) in order of merit.

SSC GD Constable 2022-23 Exam Pattern

The written examination for the SSC GD Constable Recruitment will feature objective-type questions from four subjects: General English/Hindi, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Mathematics, and General Knowledge. Each subject will consist of 20 questions, with a total of 160 marks for the exam. The difficulty level of the question paper will be on par with the 10th Class/Matriculation. Additionally, incorrect answers will be penalized with a negative marking of 1/4th of the mark. The exam duration will be 60 minutes.

SSC GD 2022 Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Candidates who qualify in the Computer-Based Examination will be called for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PET/PST). The number of candidates called for this stage will be ten times the number of vacancies. Ex-servicemen who are shortlisted in the Computer-Based Examination will only need to appear for the measurement of their height, chest, and weight during the PET/PST stage, as PET will not be conducted for them.

SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

After the Computer-Based Test, the Staff Selection Commission will shortlist candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The PET and PST will be conducted at various centers selected by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). At the time of the Detailed Medical Examination (DME), a thorough scrutiny of the candidate’s eligibility and documents will be conducted.

It is, therefore, the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria stated in the notification before appearing for the CBE/PST/PET. During the PET/PST, candidates who meet the height criteria will undergo the PET (race), followed by biometric/technology-assisted identification. The CAPFs PET/PST Boards will scrutinize the eligibility of candidates for any relaxation in age, height, and chest measurements after qualifying in the PET (race).
